Be Your Own Santa @ Target

Advertising, copywriting, & concept

This is a Holiday Campaign for Target’s stores.  I designed around the idea of creating many modular Santas, to create representation and diversity within the Santas shown on products and in-store advertising.

I pulled from an eclectic group of aesthetics, including Mid-Century Modern holiday cards, current Scandenavian design work, and old Disney illustrations and concept art.  However, I wanted to differentiate this campaign from others by focusing on Santa as a human figure, rather than faceless or general Chirstmas symbols.

I created different materials with these modular Santas, thinking about how even small pieces of representation can mean a lot, especially to kids.

With this in mind, I also created a concept for a printed mug, where people could design a mug online with Santas that looked like them and/or their loved ones, and have those designs printed and shipped to them.  This piece was also created to create more engagement with the online Target store.
